Privacy
Short version: your images never leave your device, and we would not know what you processed even if we wanted to.
Your images
DropBG runs the background-removal model inside your web browser using WebAssembly and, where available, WebGPU. When you add an image it is read from your device into the page's memory, processed there, and the result is offered to you as a download. No image data, original or result, is transmitted to DropBG or to any third party. Nothing is stored after you close the tab.
The model download
The first time you use the tool, your browser downloads the AI model files (roughly 40 to 90 MB) from a content delivery network. This is a plain file download, identical to loading an image or a script, and it contains no information about you or your images. Your browser caches these files so later visits do not download them again.
Advertising
DropBG is free and supported by advertising. If ads are shown, they are served by Google AdSense, which may use cookies or similar technologies to show ads based on your prior visits to this or other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in the Google advertising policy. Ad scripts never receive your images; they load in a separate part of the page with no access to the processing pipeline.
Analytics
We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to count page views and understand which pages are useful. These do not identify you and do not have access to the images you process.
What we do not do
- We do not upload, store, view or train on your images.
- We do not require an account, email address or any personal information.
- We do not sell data to anyone.
